How our site was born:

In 1996 I happened to stumble on a genealogy message board, where I posted a short note. I said I was a Fitzpatrick and was looking for anyone that knew of the Peter Fitzpatrick family of New Orleans.  Amazingly, on October 5th of 1998, I received an e-mail from Dr. Colleen Fitzpatrick, in which she said "I know who you are."  Well, I'm 53 years old, and, with the exception of meeting Aunt Mae and family (only once) when I was 16 years old, I didn't know any of the Fitzpatricks.  Now, I have found my family.

The very next day, after receiving Colleen's e-mail, I heard from Cousin Mick in Florida.  Within a week, the three of us decided to try putting what Colleen and Mick knew about the Fitzpatricks on a web site.  Thus was the birth of this site.

Needless to say, we (all of us) are thrilled at the response we've received to our endeavors.  Please come back to visit us frequently.  I post information to the site almost every day.  That's how often our family provides us new information and pictures.

Again, welcome to our site, a true "Labor of Love"

(Son of Earl Albert, son of Michael J., son of our Patriarch Peter)

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

(Saint Patrick's Blessing)

Background music on this page is titled Gary Owen.  Gary Owen was the music of General George Custer's 7th Cavalry, and was, in fact, played as the 7th marched from Fort Abraham Lincoln, North Dakota, to meet their fate at the Little Big Horn valley in Montana.
